June 2009

I just had a quick look at the site and can’t believe that my last post was June 5th…Where does the time go? I guess I spent quite a bit of the last month marking summative assignments, preparing exams, marking exams and doing report cards – not to mention enjoying every moment I had with Cameron after picking him up from Mum and Dad’s.

Cameron is doing great. He is now walking every where and only resorts to crawling when he has fallen while walking. He sometimes goes too fast -feet faster than the rest of him- and ends up wiping out or crashing into something. But, he gets up and keeps going. He does have quite a few bruises on his legs, arms and head, but it doesn’t stop him. Last week he had carpet burn on his forehead – he was going too fast and smashed right into the couch!

What else, Cameron loves to ‘read’. He reads his books by himself, but loves to read with Grampa. They read a Thomas book together every day, and they also read an aeroplane book every day too. The best is when Cameron is ‘reading’ by himself, he talks to himself as if he is really reading – it is very cute!

Cameron also loves to dance – he has progressed a little bit – he now shakes his sholders and swings his arms!

Oh yeah…he pooped in his potty today! We are nowhere near to training him, but we thought we would get him a potty and just put him on it when we thought he was having a poo. Now when you ask him if he is having a poo he looks at you and laughs so it is easy enough to throw him on his soft cushioned toilet seat…

So, all is well and now that the summer has arrived I will hopefully be much better at getting my posts up more regularly and hopefully I will have lots more to write about.

Cameron spent the afternoon in his pool today and he loved it… photos on flickr :-)

Well it’s been another good week.  Mum and Dad left for Niagra yesterday for the Rangers Convention so I was off yesterday and I’m off today and Brett is off Monday and Tuesday.  Spending the day with Cameron has been great …he’s napping right now.

Yesterday we went to the park. Dad takes Cameron to the park quite often, and Cameron loves the swings. So, Cameron and I headed over to the park yesterday. We did the swings and the slide and he liked both. We also played in the sand a bit, but it didn’t last that long – he started eating it, like everything else he finds.

He has started a few new funnyand cute things…

Aunt Christine does a wee rhyme for Cameron – round and round the garden went the teddy bear, one step, two step tickly under there.  She does cirlces on theh palm of his hand and then goes up his arm and tickles him under the arm. I have been doing it to him for a while now too and now he does it back to you.  He puts his finger on the palm of your hand and ’says’ the rhyme then he laughs when his meant to tickle you  – IT IS TOO CUTE!!

He also likes to tickle your feet

He has also started pointing…he points to whatever he wants. He will be eating his meal and when he wants a drink, he points to his sippy cup!

What else…he still crawls away when he knows he is going for a nap! But he goes down fine at night time?

Without any effort on our part, Cameron is down to 1 bottle at night. He won’t take a bottle in the morning and he is drinking water and milk during the day.  We were joking the other day that Cameron is following the fit for life regime – he loves grapes and he has grapes every morning along with either half an apple, half a pear or half a banana! He loves his fruit!

New to his food list this week – asparagus…yep, asparagus – loved it! Think that might be right now.

So, everything is going well and Cameron is keeping us busy…
