February 2009

So, first things first…Cameron had his doctor’s appointment this Monday (it was rescheduled) and he was his usual self. He flirted with the nurse – he was smiling and waving to her while we waited for the doctor – and then he was blowing bubbles and smiling away to the doctor. He didn’t have any shots this visit so he was a happy patient :-)

So, he weighs 23.5 lbs, he is 74.5 cm tall (just over 29 inches) and his head circumfrence is 45.5cm. The doctor was pleased with everything. Cameron is doing really well and we were told to keep doing what we are doing because he is happy and healthy.

Naps…well Cameron has decided that he doesn’t really need naps anymore. Last week Mum and Dad came to see Cameron at his swimming lesson and then we went and picked Brett up from work. We came home and I went to the gym. I assured Brett that Cameron would nap because he hadn’t slept and he had been at swimming so he would be tired….Well, Cameron proved me wrong… He didn’t nap for the next few days. He was in bed and fast asleep each night by 6:30 and was up each morning at 6:30. He has since had a couple of days that he has napped in the morning for an hour, but that has been it. So, he sleep straight through the night, and is awake most of the day – we aren’t complaining though, I would rather have it this way than the other.

Swimming is going really well. Cameron still spends a lot of his time looking around at everyone and everything, but he is much more active in the water now. He loves to splash and ‘kick’ his legs. Last week we used life jackets and Cameron loved it. He lay on his back and kicked his legs and did his hand thing – I wasn’t even holding him up – he was floating all by himself and he loved it!

Cameron loves to roll and we love that he is moving…most of the time. Changing his diaper and getting him dressed has become a nightmare! He is constantly moving and rolling away – it takes ages to get him changed and he thinks it’s funny!

Mum – Cameron continues to make new sounds and sometimes they sound like words – hiya,  hey you, what etc.  He has started to say Mum – the only thing is that he says it to everything but me. He”ll say mum while playing with his train, while playing with his animals, while eating, while he does everything just not when he sees me! I’m sure it will come eventually.

Nothing else to report right now – we are all well and enjoying the fact that the weather is getting a bit warmer…

Enjoy the new photos and videos on flickr.

Well, Cameron has proven us all wrong. We were sure he wasn’t going to roll, but he has! He is now rolling around all over the place and he is loving it. He is now able to ‘explore’ all these new areas of the house that he hasn’t seen before (from this new angle).  All of a sudden on Saturday night, at Mum and Dad’s, Cameron decided it was time to get moving and he hasn’t looked back since. (see video on flickr)

Not much else to report.  His two top teeth are coming down quickly and you can see them when he smiles.

He is doing well and keeping us busy.

We are at the doctor next Tuesday (17th) so I will post all the stats then.

Just wanted to post a few photos and thought I would let everyone know that Cameron now has his two front teeth (top). You will see from the colour of his cheeks in the photos that he was teething…

Also, I have posted 2 videos of Cameron in his exersaucer…too funny…you’ll see what I mean.

Well things are good. Cameron is feeling much better and is doing well. He now has one of his top front teeth in and the other is right there, it just has to push through that last little bit. He now spends a lot of his time rubbing his tongue along his teeth – it is quite funny to watch.

Cameron has also started to wave goodbye – he waves with a fist, but still it’s a wave!

Cameron loves to scream! He screams are high pitched as well as low pitched and extremely loud. We were at Mum and Dad’s yesterday and we had to turn the t.v. up to hear it over Cameron, and then we just gave up – he was too loud!

Cameron is starting to pull himself up to the standing position. When we hold his hands he can ‘walk’. He knows what  he is meant to do, but half the time his is so nosey he doesn’t pay attention to what he is doing, but his legs are still moving.

Cameron loves his exersaucer – he jumps, screams, laughs, yells, and goes crazy in it – it is great to watch.

We went out for dinner Saturday night with Mum and Dad. Cameron was not too sure about the waitress – he cried twice when she spoke to him and then he followed her everywhere, finally he started smiling and flirting with her – classic Cameron.

Another thing that Cameron has started to do which is hilarious is look for Mum’s earrings. He sometimes pushes her face to the side so he can look at her ear to see if there is an earring. He turns his head to the side so he can see the earring from all angles…it is priceless – I will try to get a video of it. Today, Cameron was checking Grampa’s ear to see if he had any earrings – nope, but plenty to pull on – big ears ;-)

I spoke to Kate on Sunday-her birthday- and she was saying that Emily is doing well. She is teething, but still doing well. She has started to ‘crawl’ – dragging her body along the floor using only her right arm and right leg…she gets where she wants to go and that’s all that matters really. Kate and Emily are headed off to Florida on Thursday…lucky them :-)

All in all everything is good…
