October 2008

It has been an interesting weekend…

Cameron has been an eating machine! Brett and I stayed at my Mum and Dad’s over the weekend. Dad was away at Sudbury and North Bay for soccer – they won both games and finished first in the East division – and Brett was working early both Saturday and Sunday. Anyway, so we noticed on Thursday that Cameron was hungrier than usual, we figured he might be going through a growth spurt, but then Friday was crazy. Every time you looked at him he was eating. Friday night between 5pm and 10pm he had eaten something like 25oz of formula. He also woke up at 10pm, after having been asleep for 3hrs (or so) to be fed, and this is not at all like him. Saturday was much the same and Sunday ditto. We decided that perhaps he was letting us know that he is ready for some solids! So, Sunday afternoon on the way home from Mum’s we picked up some rice cereal, and…he loves it! I spoke with the nurse at the doctor’s and she advised me to give it to him 3 times a day (breakfast, lunch and supper) and to increase the amount as time goes on. We have definitely noticed a difference. He is back to his normal 4 bottles a day (sometimes 5) and he has slept through the night the past 2 days. So, it all seems to be back to normal…whatever that is :-)

Cameron is much more interactive with us now. He laughs and smiles (when he wants) and has started making  all these new sounds. He is able to sit up by himself, but still topples over especially if he has to turn to see something that catches his eye. He continues to examine everything and reaches for things. He is so close to turning over, but really we think he just can’t be bothered :-)

He still loves his bath and I am now soaked by the end of his 15 minute bath time. He kicks his legs and flares his arms around – he loves it. He does more in his bath than he does in the swimming pool!

Everything is good.

I have uploaded a few more photos of Cameron and some videos – Cameron is really cute in them and Brett and I just sound like idiots! Enjoy!

So…all is well in the Walker home.

Cameron continues to do well. He is still sleeping through the night (8:30-8:00) eating and pooing well and changing every day. He is so close to turning over, but still not there and he is also close to being able to sit up by himself, but still not there…

He definitely likes to look at everything around him. He sat at the football on Saturday and just watched everything that was going on. Right now he loves watching the leaves on the trees as they move in the wind and fall to the ground.  He watches everything – he is kinda nosey really :-)

At swimming, Cameron has started playing with the balls in the pool and he has even started to ‘kick’ his legs a little bit. He still likes to lie back and cross his legs though!

As for music class, as long as he has had a nap before we go he does really well. He loves it when I put him up over my head and bring him back down – the zoom, zoom song – it’s great, he laughs and smiles away, but my arms kill by the end of it!  He also likes playing with the scarves, and gets all excited when we play peek a boo.

Aunt Christine and Robert were up for a visit 2 weeks ago – they are doing well and will be back up for Nationals next month.  We spent the weekend visiting and Cameron got spoiled with hugs and kisses and lots of attention :-)

Brett and I went to a concert last Wednesday – Let it be- different Canadian artists performing songs by Lennon and McCartney. It was really good. Mum and Dad babysat, and Cameron was well behaved!

Thanksgiving was this past weekend.

We went to the football on Saturday – Carleton won – and then on Sunday we went to Mum and Dad’s for a Thanksgiving dinner. We stayed over – Brett was doing a double shift (nights and then days) so it was easiest for us to stay over at Mum and Dad’s. Cameron was great again. Granny and even Grampa now, get lots of smiles when we arrive at the house. He has started to laugh now, not just giggle but laugh, and he was doing it a lot when Dad was playing with him.

We have swimming tomorrow and then music on Friday.

Nothing new to report really…Took this photo a couple of days ago and wanted to share it….

It’s hard to believe how much he has grown, but he definitely has!
